Die Beiträge erstrecken sich von der Frühen Neuzeit bis in die Transformationszeit ab 1990. Das Buch bietet eine Bestandsaufnahme der gegenwärtigen Forschungsinitiativen an den Thüringer Universitäten und bildet darüber hinaus auch gesellschaftspolitische Perspektiven von dekolonialen Initiativen und Künstler*innen ab. Der Band entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit der Künstlerin Patricia Vester.
