Based on a detailed analysis of syntax, information structure and pragmatic organization, this study explores how left-dislocation is used in republican Latin comedy, prose and inscriptions as a device to introduce topics or other pragmatically prominent elements. Taking into consideration especially relative clause syntax and constraints of each text type, Hilla Halla-aho shows that, in the context of early Latin syntax and the evolving standards of the written language, left-dislocation performs similar functions in dramatic dialogue, legal inscriptions and archaic prose.","brand":"Hilla Halla-Aho","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48269982957819,"sku":"9789004302471","price":144.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0779\/3917\/9771\/files\/CoreSourceHub_88b59165-1fe4-4678-ac70-50e362a4d73d.jpg?v=1776726777","url":"https:\/\/indiepubs.com\/products\/left-dislocation-in-latin-9789004302471","provider":"IndiePubs","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
