Elle analyse les nouvelles tendances qui sont apparues dans la littérature et la culture francophones depuis les années 1970, avec des chapitres consacrés à Roland Barthes, Chris Marker, Philippe Forest, Michaël Ferrier et aux écrits post-Fukushima. Ces œuvres partagent une fascination pour un quotidien qui présente des signes évidents de familiarité, bien qu’il soit découvert à l’autre bout du monde.
