Deborah Van Dyken is an attorney and writer who lives in Beaufort, North Carolina. In addition to Nell and the Baby Dolphin, she is the author of Wild Geese Flying and The Little Turkle. During the past thirty years, Deborah has spent a lot of time observing the landscape and wildlife of Carteret County, North Carolina, which inspire her books for children.
