Sixteen-year-old Mira Durand has just been checked into the secure unit of the Residency Adolescent Treatment Centre for obsessive compulsive and comorbid disorders. Four years of being passed around different psych wards like a hot potato have only worsened her OCD and anorexia. Her brutal, religious compulsions, which she believes keep her mom safe, make her less of a clean freak and more of a freak freak. No wonder her only friend is her journal.

At the Residency's Ward 2, Mira discovers that her shrink is a fellow fantasy nerd and that her wardmates have enough of their own high-risk behaviors to tolerate hers. The complex friendships she forms with them (including a first love), the slow trust she builds with her treatment team, and the outside and family visits she earns give her things to look forward to beyond the drudgery of her compulsions. But it takes visiting Gung Gung, her dying maternal grandfather, for her to realize that to truly live, she must fight the cognitive distortions at the heart of her compulsions.

Although Marion passed away several years ago, a caring neighbour kept her well-preserved scrapbook of photographic and written memories. It was given to the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies (LCMSDS), and that gift has resulted in this publication.
The scrapbook chronicles Marion Swinton’s time in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS) during the Second World War. Marion compiled her scrapbook using photos, memorabilia, letters, and stories from her time as a Wren, as members of the WRCNS were called.
The photographs and captions paint a picture of the joy, the fears, and the anticipation of a young woman living out a great adventure. It documents in meticulous detail the events that shaped Marions early twenties and in many ways the rest of her life.

This is a book about the crisis of the European integration project as seen from the vantage point of people’s movements across and to the European continent. But why should the issue of refugees or of migration have anything to do with the dynamics of the integration or disintegration of the European Union? If anything, the existing global refugee protection regime was conceived in Europe at about the time when Europe began to integrate: It was seen as a moral imperative in the context of European solidarity and in the face of crisis. How did refugee protection become so controversial as to usher in a crisis of its own? Why do European governments and their peoples see refugees and migrants as the cause of a crisis in and of Europe? Solidarity, legitimacy, democracy, welfare, rights: How has refugee migration undermined European positions on all that has defined EU integration so far?

Koreans are known for their keen interest in genealogy and inherited ancestral status. With Western cultures becoming more pluralistic, the question of "truth" in politics has become a game of interpretations. Today, we face the demise of the very idea of truth as an objective description of facts, though many have yet to acknowledge that this is changing.
