After many years of photographing gardens Mark Bolton decided he wanted to make a garden of his own, from scratch. And what kind of garden? Well, of course, a cottage garden, everybody's favourite. This is a personal account of how an amateur enthusiast, who has never made a garden before – but who, as a garden photographer, is very conscious of what a good garden should look like – sets out to make a lovely garden of his own. As an inexperienced gardener himself, he always bears in mind the complete gardening novice and includes useful practical information.
Mark Bolton is an highly regarded photographer with more then twenty- five years' experience of photographing gardens and interiors, all over the world, for books, magazines, newspapers and commercial clients. He lives in Devon.
