“Displaying an Erasmian taste for combining light-heartedness with thorough erudition, both the editor and the contributors to this handbook have not just succeeded in adding new things to an already massive history of research on Erasmus, but also in bringing to life the ideas of an author whose works are not easily accessible to those less acquainted with them. This Companion is a manual that, for many years to come, will bring pleasure and profit to both acclaimed and inexperienced students of Erasmus.”
