Summer Melody Pennell, Ph.D., is an education scholar and practitioner. She specializes in English and literacy, equity in education, and teaching young adult literature. Her publications include Queering Critical Literacy and Numeracy for Social Justice: Navigating the Course (2019).
Maggie Campbell-Obaid, Ph.D., is a social psychologist, associate professor at Framingham State University, and mother of three. In addition to her work with the Motherscholar Collective, she has a range of research interests involving peace, violence, and political psychology.
Katharina A. Azim, Ph.D., is a reproductive health scholar activist and Associate Professor in Human Sexuality at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is an international scholar and mother of three with current residency in the U.S.
Jennifer H. Greene-Rooks, is an associate professor of Professional Counseling as well as School Counseling Liaison at Texas State University. Her research includes counselor education, multicultural counseling, school counseling, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and motherscholarship.
Chonika Coleman-King, Ph.D., is currently Associate Professor of Teachers, Schools, and Society at the University of Florida. Her research includes preparing anti-racist teachers for the classroom, culturally responsive STEM education, Black mothering, and the experiences of Black immigrant and Black American youth in U.S. schools.
Helen Ho, Ph.D. is a design researcher with a history as a Communication Studies professor. Her work seeks to bridge silos and connect subject matter experts for integrated solutions for better futures.
Ivanna Richardson is a researcher, linguist, mother of many children, focused on thinking about and supporting ways of collaborating that challenge the status quo and bringing relief and light to those whose voices aren’t usually heard.
