"A bold, atmospheric piece that redefines how we experience theatre, proving that horror can thrive in the intimacy of sound as much as in the spectacle of sight." —TheatreWeekly
An actor arrives late at a sound studio for a last-minute job for which he is yet to see the script: an audiobook recording of a particularly chilling ghost story. But as the evening progresses, the horrors start to escape the pages of the story, and haunt the studio itself.
A Ghost In Your Ear is a gripping, genre-bending, spine-tingling exploration of terror, uncertainty, and storytelling.
"Truly terrifying…Jamie Armitage's chiller really does delight in giving you the creeps."
—Guardian
"Immaculately crafted…a proper scary little gem."
—Time Out
"A spooky tale with shades of MR James or Shirley Jackson…Prepare to jump."
—The Times
"A masterpiece of horror…simultaneously an instant classic and a pioneer in theatrical storytelling."
—Theatre and Tonic
"A new spin on the beloved conventions of the ghost story…devastatingly effective."
—London Standard
"Absolutely outstanding…A Ghost In Your Ear dials up the scare factor in a way I have never seen in a theatre before."
—All That Dazzles
"Armitage is unafraid to lean into the tropes—the jump scares are formulaic in their build and regularity, but it turns out knowing you're about to be scared does absolutely nothing to one's ability to prevent it…what could be better than a good haunting tale to get your blood pumping?"
—WhatsOnStage
"Eerie and mesmerising, with perfectly timed scares…a frighteningly good horror."
—Liam O'Dell
"A taut fusion of gothic storytelling and modern innovation, leaving audiences gasping."
—The Spy in the Stalls
"The horror of this show ranges from skin-crawling creeps to jump scares that make the pit of your stomach fall out…a ripping 90-minutes of thrills and chills."
—West End Best Friend
