Starting his career as a scholar of the New Testament, Seán Freyne's work became synonymous with the study of Galilee in the Greek and Roman periods. His search for a deeper and more nuanced understanding of Judaism in the Greek and Roman periods and the development of the early Christian movement has led him to interface with scholars in many related disciplines. Zuleika Rodgers, PhD (1999),Trinity College Dublin, is Lecturer in Jewish Studies at Trinity College Dublin and Director of the Herzog Centre for Jewish and Near Eastern Religion and Culture. An established composer of liturgical music, her current research interests lie with the early Christian reception of the psalms and she has published David in the Fourth Gospel: The Johannine Reception of the Psalms (Brill, 2000).

Her research interests include Judaism in the Persian period and she also published in the area of early Israelite history, The Transformation of Torah from Scribal Advice to Law (Sheffield, 1999).
