The Dictionnaire de l’occitan médiéval is the only dictionary of medieval Occitan (previously known as Old Provencal) which meets present-day academic standards. It not only takes account of literary texts - particularly those of the troubadours - but also the vocabulary of official documents, specialist texts etc. to the extent that these texts have been published. The emphasis is placed on the presentation of the various meanings which can be allocated to the alphabetically arranged headwords. To date, 5 fascicles have been produced (A - AIRIENC), together with a bibliographical supplement.
