Alice's Country Diary Quilt is a breathtaking fusion of English Paper Piecing (EPP), hand embroidery, and quilting, inspired by the beauty of the countryside. Featuring 25 unique embroidery designs, this quilt showcases delicate wildflowers and insects, framed by luxurious Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics - though any quilting fabric can be used.

This quilting project is perfect for quilters and embroidery lovers alike, offering a combination of hand-sewing techniques with a touch of machine piecing for final assembly. The quilt includes:

  • 25 intricate embroidered blocks plus 12 border blocks, creating a 68 x 68-inch masterpiece
  • 9 essential embroidery stitches and 40 DMC thread colors for rich, textural detail
  • Beautiful fabric prints in the bespoke EPP rings
  • Full step-by-step instructions for both stitching and quilt construction
  • Iron-on embroidery transfers to effortlessly transfer designs onto fabric

Beyond technique, this book is a work of art in itself, featuring the author's original botanical drawings and plant lore, adding a storytelling element to your crafting journey.

Alice Garrett of Alice Caroline Fabrics is a designer, entrepreneur and all-round creative. Having completed a PhD in cancer genetics, she started to rediscover her creativity as a maker and designer of dresses, cushions, bags, childrenswear and quilts. Liberty of London Tana Lawn was a natural choice for her projects, with its fine weave, delicate and inventive patterns, and its traditional English heritage. Alice's studio is in a light and airy barn conversion in the tranquil Cotswold hills. Rolls of linens and silks are stashed below the vintage cutting tables, whose previous life was in one of Liberty's regional department stores. She has over 50k followers on Instagram (@alicecarolinefabrics) and is regularly featured in the craft and women's lifestyle press. She lives in the Cotswolds, UK.
