What is the state of African creative fiction, African publishing, and African literary criticism in the first decades of the twenty-first century?

This volume focusses on the nature and message of contemporary African imaginative creativity, examining literary works, narrative techniques, and innovations, as well as the nature and state of the criticism applied in analysis and interpretation. Inspired by Chinua Achebe's view of contemporary African Literature as a balance of stories between Africa and the West, contributors reflect on how writers have responded to this vision and moved the narrative of the continent forward into the arena of world literature.
