This volume is a pleasant surprise. Under Dr Chibnall's direction, the conference has returned to a clearer focus, and many of these papers explicitly respond to or build upon previous ones...this anthology is unusual in its overall quality, especially in its challenges to our preconceptions. I recommend all of the articles to Anglo-Normanists.
