The text of the Franco-Italian prose romance »Aquilon de Bavière« (1379–1407) was published in two volumes in 1982. This third volume in the enterprise contains a literary-historical commentary situating the text in the Franco-Italian epic tradition and analyzing it in the socio-cultural context of the time. A linguistic commentary (grapho-phonetics, morphosyntax, lexicology) concentrates on the language-mixing procedures involved, while a 'Glossary' interprets the lexis from a lexicological viewpoint. The volume rounds off with an index of proper names with references to where they are to be found in the work.
