Lyrical and surreal, At the Big Bang Resort’s poems reckon with time, love, violence, memory, and the fragile continuities that bind us to one another and to the worlds we inherit. Art, erasure, and witness recur as forms of survival, as Rachlin navigates cities and wilderness, grief and desire, asking how to live with what cannot be fixed, how to remember what resists forgetting, and despite it all, to celebrate.
Ellen Rachlin is the author of the historical fantasy, Enheduanna’s Song From the Sands (Histria Fiction). Her previous collection, Permeable Divide, received the 2018 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Silver Award. Her poems have appeared in various journals and anthologies, including American Poetry Review, Granta, Literary Imagination, and The Eloquent Poem. She spent her career in financial services and has written numerous textbook chapters on investing and finance. She serves on various nonprofit boards, including the Poetry Society of America where she serves as treasurer. She resides in New York City.
