Helping Children to Value Those Who Are Different
The first of the PEERspective series, Be a Friend: PEERspective on Autism, introduced children to autism in a way that promoted understanding and inclusion. This book does the same with ADHD. Children can form assumptions about those they perceive as different in less than ideal ways. When they learn about ADHD, assumptions based on fear or confusion can be avoided, and attitudes of acceptance, kindness, and empathy can be fostered. In addition, PEERspective on ADHD allows the discussion to go one step further by empowering families to communicate about their child with ADHD in a personalized, authentic way.
Kids will love the warm, detailed illustrations!
