This book aims to highlight the social, environmental, and economic challenges of the platform economy while providing interdisciplinary solutions from the fields of management, law and regulations, economics, and technology. The book will be organized into three sections. In Section 1, the authors explain the managerial strategies of digital entrepreneurship in the platform economy aimed at fostering economic growth and addressing social and environmental challenges. Section 2 considers how industry-specific solutions within the platform economy contribute to economic growth and help address social and environmental challenges. Section 3 provides an explanation of the institutional framework, along with a set of scientific and methodological developments and practical recommendations for improving regional governance of economic growth, as well as for more comprehensively and effectively addressing social and environmental challenges in the contemporary platform economy.
Prof. Dr. Elena G. Popkova is Founder and former President of the Institute of Scientific Communications (Volgograd, Russia) and formerly Professor of the Department of Economics, Chair of International Economic Relations at RUDN University, Moscow, Russia. She is now the Director of the Laboratory of Scientometrics and International Rankings at Armenian State University of Economics, Yerevan, Armenia.
