Claudio es un profesor español residente en Pittsburgh que, por inclemencias del tiempo, ve retrasado un viaje a Buenos Aires. En el aeropuerto conoce a Marcelo, un ejecutivo de talante abierto que le cuenta su propia experiencia, años atrás, en un hotel de la capital argentina: allí conoció a Carlota, una fantástica mujer que despertó en él profundos sentimientos.
