CIL II2/14,3 is the second volume (Nos. 1200-1890) of the comprehensive edition of Latin inscriptions from Tarraco, once the capital of the Roman province of Hispania citerior (Nearer Hispania). Today’s city of Tarragona holds exceptionally rich Roman source materials of great importance for historical research about ancient Spain. In this fascicle, Géza Alföldy documents inscriptions by the city’s magistrates and priests, as well as those taken from various Collegia; he also includes seat inscriptions from the theater and amphitheater, and finally, the funerary inscriptions, all of them documented with illustrations and extensive commentary.
Géza Alföldy (†), Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg.
