Elegiac and darkly humorous, the poems in Lisa C. Kruger’s sixth collection of poems explore what it means to be human in a world where destruction and transformation of the natural world take on mythic proportions. What part do we play in our own destiny? Can we believe in science? How do we know what is simulated, what is fake? When you tell me that you love me, what exactly do you mean? Darling Now proffers a unique blend of love poems and provocative mythic anecdotes that ask us to consider the constraints of personal identity in a world where boundaries between the real and imagined are in flux. There is visceral intimacy between flagrant events of the external world and our own inner cosmos.
