L. Carrington Goodrich, the Dean Lung Professor Emeritus of Chinese is the author of The Literary Inquisition of Ch'ien-lung and A Short History of the Chinese People and his revision of T.F. Carter's Invention of Printing in China and Its Spread Westward.Chaoying Fang, and his wife Lienche Tu Fang are best known for their work, Eminent Chinese of the Ch'ing Period (1644-1912), edited by Arthur W. Hummel. Mrs. Fang contributed several biographies to Howard Boorman's Biographical Dictionary of Republican China, and Mr. Fang prepared the highly praised The Asami Library: A Descriptive Catalog.
