This volume is part of the continuation of Felix Jacoby’s collection of fragmentary Greek historiography (FGrHist) and is devoted to the third-century BCE Peripatetic philosopher Hieronymos of Rhodes. It presents a new edition, translation, and the first commentary on his historical fragments, including biographical, literary, and scholarly material. A separate, comprehensive study offers the first systematic reconstruction of his intellectual profile, examining his contributions to philosophy, biography, and scholarly writing, as well as his methods, sources, and style. By reassessing both the ancient evidence and modern interpretations, the book redefines Hieronymos’ place within the Peripatos and in the broader context of Hellenistic intellectual culture.
