This book covers the key concepts of English phonetics and phonology for Spanish-speaking learners of English. It combines theoretical issues (e.g. phonetics and phonological theory, segmentals and suprasegmentals, accent variation, connected speech, or spelling), as well as applications to practice (activities and challenges with suggested keys), adopting a contrastive English-Spanish approach and suggesting technology enhanced tools and other resources. Co-authored by two experienced teachers and researchers, the volume and its companion website, English Pronunciation for Speakers of Spanish Multimedia Lab (EPSSML), will appeal mostly, but not exclusively, to all Spanish-speaking students of English language and linguistics and those training for a certificate in TEFL.
