This chapter focuses on the changes in agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in Europe over recent decades. It draws specific attention to emission intensities from various production systems and provides an overview of potential initiatives the EU has in place in order to reduce these emissions. A section on how climate change negatively impacts food supply and food security is also provided. The chapter also outlines how technologies and policies may be developed to further reduce emissions.
