A distinctively modern problem, the relation of revelation and reason remains a crucial topic for theology today. Yet, in the Christian tradition as in contemporary discourse, multiple models of distinguishing and relating the two persist. This study examines the dogmatic insights of Herman Bavinck (1854–1921) for contemporary discourse on natural theology. As the preeminent dogmatician of Neo-Calvinism, Bavinck stands as a modern Reformed orthodox theologian, advancing Reformed theology into the modern era. Bavinck’s dogmatic approach to natural theology constitutes an essential part of the theoretical foundation for the Christian practice of philosophy, psychology, political theology, and apologetics.
