Great Lives in Graphics: Anne Frank is a graphic retelling of Anne's story, presented in a visual snapshot that educates children about her life and the world she grew up in while teaching them about everything from World War II to the dangers of prejudice. As one of the most famous writers in the world, this colorful account covers how she was only 13 when she and her Jewish family were forced into hiding from the Nazis, spending two years hiding in a cramped, secret room in Amsterdam.
You may already know that Anne Frank wrote a diary, but did you know that she wrote it in Dutch or that she wrote two versions of it? Did you know that The Frank family tried to escape to America, but the US government and the public only wanted to accept a certain number of Jewish refugees?

"I absolutely love Anne Frank. I have read her diary more times than I can count… Her story has stayed with me and will forever… The Holocaust is hard to teach and not all children are ready to hear the horrors of war but it can be taught gently and sensitively through books and it is something I believe passionately our young people should know about so that they can play their part in sharing the story and ensuring such horrors never happen again. So that they can find inspiration in the story of a young girl who in spite of everything believed that all people were good and dreamed of a better world”—@picturebookplaydate
"In these slim yet delightfully comprehensive and detailed volumes, readers can learn about historical figures like Cleopatra, Martin Luther King, Jr., Anne Frank, and more!...Informative and engaging. Infographic layouts are always a great approach to make learning fun, and these middle-grade biographical titles are as entertaining to look at as they are to read. The information presented covers both the elementary and the esoteric…We would absolutely recommend this for curious middle-grade readers, especially those interested in world history.”—@thebabybookworm
