Hamburg has set its sights on sustainable inner-city development. New neighborhoods with more spaces for housing, services, manufacturing, traffic, and leisure are now being created. However, building density and the location of open spaces must be carefully balanced in order to preserve the environment and maintain short travelling distances within the city.
