Alka Patel, Ph.D. (2000), Harvard University is Associate Professor at the University of California, Irvine. Her research has focused on South Asia and its connections with Iran and Central Asia, including overland and Indian Ocean maritime networks. Her works include Building Communities in Gujarat: Architecture and Society during the Twelfth-Fourteenth Centuries (Brill 2004) as well as Architecture of the Indian Sultanates (Ed., 2006).

Touraj Daryaee, Ph.D. (1999), UCLA, is Professor of Iranian History and the Persianate World at UC Irvine. He has published monographs and many articles on ancient and late antique Iranian world, including Sasanian Iran in the Context of Late Antiquity: The Bahari Lecture Series at the University of Oxford (2018).
