This reference work is a revised and expanded edition of Initia Carminum Byzantinorum (2005). It provides the first verse of around 25,000 Byzantine poems, both secular and religious, edited and unprinted, in high and vernacular languages from the 4th to the 15th century, in alphabetical order. Each opening verse is accompanied by information about the author, subject, place of publication, and length of the poem.
