Drawing on diverse sources and methodologies, it illuminates how authors and readers get inspired, authoritative texts emerge, are interpreted, and remain embedded in contemporary discussions. It advocates a close integration of historical dynamics and a sustained dialogue with other intellectual and religious traditions.
