During the 1980s, John M. Fossey† directed excavations at the site of Khostia in Central Greece. This volume is part of a continuing series of field reports from that project and includes several important elements that help elucidate the site and its history. There is a report of the ancient testimonia for the site (probably ancient Khorsiai), followed by the reports of the early travellers to the region (primarily from the 18th and 19th centuries). The bulk of the volume is a detailed catalogue of the small finds from the excavations, which will be a significant repertory of such objects and valuable for a understanding of the material culture of Central Greece.
