However, convinced that Bentley's clumsiness is incompatible with the cold-blooded nature of the crime, Superintendent Spence turns to Hercule Poirot for help. The famous detective leaves behind his comfortable London life for a run-down guesthouse in the small rural village of Broadhinny.
There, he uncovers the clue everyone else has overlooked: shortly before her death, Mrs. McGinty clipped a newspaper article about four women who vanished without a trace.
