Charlene M. Eska provides in this book an edition and translation for the first time of the legal glossary of the seventeenth-century Irish antiquarian Dubhaltach Mac Fhirbhisigh. Without his efforts as a collector, much of the medieval Irish legal corpus would have been lost. Dubhaltach compiled his glossary from a wide range of medieval sources, some of which are no longer extant. The glossary provides us not only with a wealth of new Irish legal vocabulary, but it also offers us a glimpse into these otherwise lost texts.
