Luise Kaish was a key figure in the New York art scene of the late 20th century, whose multidisciplinary and process-oriented practice contributed to various artistic discourses at the time. The strength and breadth of her work, her influential role in education, and the prestigious awards she received in recognition of her practice set her apart as an early female leader in the arts. She will be remembered for her immense talent, highly individual point of view, pursuit of the sublime, keen execution, and passion for life, which, despite the tides of changing tastes, will remain forever significant.

“As a painter, sculptor, and educator, Luise Kaish worked against the expectations of time and place. A precious and peripatetic talent,”—James Panero, The New Criterion
"A triumph...It confirms her place as a key figure in the New York arts of the late 20th century."—Clare Henry, FRSA, Artlyst
"A wonderful tribute to the creativity of this master artist. Her life story is the story of a life devoted to art, and the breadth of her work is beautifully illustrated in this volume.”—Donald Kuspit, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Art History and Philosophy at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and the School of Visual Arts
“A pioneering artist, who challenged many conventions during her career, Kaish’s distinctive work and ideas have long been overdue for a contemporary reassessment and this book will be a must-read for anyone interested in the artist’s contributions to sculpture in the 20th century.”—Dr. Michael B. Taylor, chief curator and deputy director for Art and Education, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
