When describing a proposal to send the world’s first 3D-printed satellite into space by 2020, scientists from the European Space Agency pointed out that composite materials are now predominant in the sciences. Although the capabilities of multi-materials have been recognized in the sciences for decades, they have yet to be systematically explored in architecture.
