Jacob Kalichman is a field mycologist devoted to wild mushroom identification and photography. With an ongoing interest in identifying gilled mushrooms in difficult genera, he has taken up digesting and sharing updates in mycological taxonomy. He compiled a compendium of generic names of agarics and Agaricales, published as a paper in 2020 and continually updated. He also maintains suggested common names and associated guidelines for North American fungi. He wrote the current edition of the National Audubon Society Mushrooms of North America and Mushroom Finder. Jacob lives in Tennessee.
Anthoni Goodman has spent decades studying and documenting fungi. He honed his skills in the American Southwest, identifying edible and ecologically significant species through his involvement with the Arizona Mushroom Society. Now a behavioral neuroscientist based in Alabama, he is an active mycologist whose work includes species documentation, rare-species tracking, photography, and community education.
