Yip Fai (Hong Kong) was born in Hong Kong and worked in the news media for more than 30 years. He is co-founder of the poetry magazines Compass, Qiu Ying and Poetry Waves, and a writer and literary critic who has been actively involved in the publication of several literary magazines in Hong Kong since 1976. His essay collections Memories of The Floating city (1997), Water in The Bottle (1999), Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (2006), and literary criticism Writings about The Floating City (2001), Poetry Map: My Private Edition (2005), won commendations and awards in the Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2007. His first collection of poetry titled In-between: Day And Night was published in 2009 and his recent collection of literary criticism is titled Kairos:Body, Dwelling and Others (2010).
