Berlin, the Electropolis: architecturally and aesthetically, they are still impressive, but technical and economic progress has made the buildings of electricity supply redundant today. Innovative concepts are needed to uncover the huge potential of these masterpieces of industrial architecture for new scenarios of use. New Power presents more than 20 high-quality architectural projects and for the first time some from the 50s and 60s. Examples of successful re-use during recent years indicate the diversity of projects that can secure the buildings of the Electropolis a rewarding future.

Berlin, die Elektropolis: architektonisch und ästhetisch von hohem Rang, werden viele Bauten der Stromverorgung aufgrund technischer und wirtschaftlicher Neuerungen heute nicht mehr benötigt. Innovative Konzepte sind gefragt, um das große Potential dieser Meisterwerke der Industriearchitektur für neue Nutzungen zu erschließen. New Power stellt erstmals auch anspruchsvolle Architekturprojekte der 50er und 60er Jahre vor. Am Beispiel gelungener Umnutzungen aus jüngster Zeit wird gezeigt, auf welch vielfältige Weise die Bauten der Elektropolis in eine erfolgreiche Zukunft geführt werden können.
