Jonás is convinced that school is very boring. He’d much rather go to kindergarten like his little sister Lena, or to work like his mom and dad, but are they really more fun than going to school?

When Jonás wakes up one day he decides he absolutely does not want to go to school! He wants to go back to kindergarten like his little sister, Lena. But when he gets there, he soon discovers that it’s not as fun as he thought – there are crying babies everywhere who snatch his toys from him! Disappointed with kindergarten, he decides to go to work like his mom and dad – surely they have much more fun than he does at school! But when he gets to work, there’s nothing but boring things to do and it’s exhausting! After such a busy day, Jonás decides that maybe school isn’t so bad after all…

This fun story will take readers through a day in the life of other family members. The Spanish translation adeptly finds words specific to each space Jonas visits that can expand the vocabulary of readers. Empathy is at the forefront of this story, which is highly recommended. A great purchase for libraries serving Spanish-speaking communities or with bilingual programs. – School Library Journal.
