As contemporary European societies grapple with major demographic shifts, economic transitions, and the omnipresent realities of modern technology and artificial intelligence, the landscape of schooling demands a transformative approach. This volume provides an indispensable roadmap by exploring Personal, Social Development (PSD) within the Maltese educational framework. Moving beyond the standard corporate-centric competencies of the 21st-century paradigm, the book proposes an evolved model that incorporates compassion as a vital fifth core pillar of the 4Cs of 21st Century Learning. It serves as a definitive guide for researchers and practitioners dedicated to establishing inclusive, reflective, and humanistic spaces for learning.
