Crack the case on the world's most mischievous creatures with Pesties!

Join the investigation into nature's sneakiest suspects! In this illustrated, nonfiction book, young readers flip through "wanted posters" for real-world pests from the bedbug and cockroach to the raccoon and wild boar. Each spread reveals a suspect's rap sheet: what it looks like, where it lives, what mischief it causes, and how people can outsmart it.

Packed with detailed "case files," field notes, and comic-style illustrations, Pesties turns pest education into a playful detective story. Perfect for ages 6 to 9, Pesties supports early nonfiction learning and natural curiosity while introducing real biology, geography, and problem-solving in a format kids will want to read again and again.

  • Meet the Suspects: Profiles 16 real pests from around the globe, including bedbugs, fire ants, raccoons, baboons, and wild boars.
  • Wanted-Poster Format: Each entry features a full rap sheet—size, lifespan, "weapons," "crimes," turf, and nationality—styled like a detective case file.
  • Humorous, Expressive Illustrations: Anna Aňos Kubecová's artwork brings each "suspect" to life with personality and humor.
  • Real-World Science: Genuine facts about pest behavior, habitat, and even the surprising ways some of these creatures help the environment.
  • "What To Do?" Tips: Every profile ends with practical, kid-friendly advice for keeping each pest at bay.
