Philip Pullman has won many awards for his children's books, including the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Book Award, the Smarties Prize, the Whitbread Book of the Year Award and a CBE. A two-part dramatization of his acclaimed fantasy trilogy, His Dark Materials, written by Nicholas Wright, premiered at the National Theatre in 2003.
Philip Wilson is a theatre director and former Artistic Director of Salisbury Playhouse (2007–11). As a writer, his work includes a version of Cinderella with music by Jason Carr (Chichester Festival Theatre, 2024) and an adaptation of Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales (Shoreditch Town Hall, 2014, and Oxo Bargehouse, 2015).
