Silicone elastomers are becoming increasingly important in plastics technology because their outstanding properties make them suitable for a wide range of applications. In medical technology, silicone rubber is preferred over other plastics due to its good processability and physiological safety, among other things. In the automotive and electromobility sectors, the wide operating temperature range of −50 °C to +200 °C makes silicone rubbers ideal for applications in battery technology and sensor technology.
