"PreS-Gr 1–Author/illustrator Bonilla fleshes out her precocious main character’s adventuring spirit in this Spanish-language account that takes young page turners and independent readers back in time to a world filled with dragons, castles, and distressed damsels as Minimoni and her friends take the legend of Saint George to the stage. A visit to their local library gives the troupe of eight actors a chance to read other famous fairy tales as they deconstruct knight George’s battle with a dragon and come up with their own creative ending. Beautifully depicted, the elementary school friends’ journey is a lively behind-the-scenes look at life in the theater. Bonilla provides a quick disclaimer to readers who might feel queasy with 13th-century social norms and dragon slaying, good-naturedly contrasting Minimoni’s dragon friend Oliver’s needs with those of Saint George’s nemesis. This charming picture book provides a brief introduction to familiar European legends and gives 21st-century readers license to bring such stories up to date. A funny companion text for preschool teachers, parents, and caretakers seeking relevant ways to explore and interpret allegorical tales that have been handed down over the years. VERDICT A good choice for Spanish-language picture books." —Sharon Sherman, School Library Journal
