Right My Dudes... Now What? is a book for men navigating the uncomfortable intersection between the manosphere-MAGA worldview and left-wing spaces, speaking to those who feel alienated from both. It examines how disconnection and loneliness can lead men to dangerous addictions, economic problems, incarceration, and suicide, all while fueling the cultural and political rise of figures like Donald Trump. Written from both a political and educational perspective, this book offers remedies to these challenges through a raw, honest exploration on how masculinity can be expressed positively—without becoming an asshole.
"I have personally been next to Bill when we were told that there is no longer any place in the progressive movement for white men. For the most part, I have kept my head down on this topic. My friend Bill has not, and with this book heis adding a new and long-overdue voice to the conversation about the crisis of masculinity. Want to know what strong, empathetic, and progressive masculinity looks like? Read this book. Right My Dudes is the antidote to toxic masculinity." — Jason Stanford, co-author of The New York Times-bestselling Forget the Alamo: The Rise and Fall of an American Myth
"A must read for Democrats in politics, McCamley offers an honest, deep, and personal analysis of where men are today and why so many turned to Trumpism. He also charts a path for winning men back - offered with well-researched and practical strategies that can be used right now. Care about politics? Here's your new manual." — David King, Harvard University Faculty Chair of the Bipartisan Program for Newly-Elected Members of the U.S. Congress.
Bill McCamley spent over 20 years in various public offices that include County Commissioner, State Representative, and New Mexico Secretary of Labor. His experience is wide and deep, with roles in areas as diverse as transportation, economic development, workforce readiness, mental health, marijuana legalization, real estate development, t-shirt sales, and swing dancing instruction. He has degrees from New Mexico State University and Harvard University, and currently lives in Las Cruces, NM with his dog Cooper.
