This volume addresses questions in the history of science and allied disciplines, about the inseparable relation between science and politics. Cases presented in the book shed light on the political conditions, orientation and the consequences of science. Together, they articulate frames of inquiry in historical-political epistemology. He has published monographs and articles on historical epistemology and early modern science, including Political Epistemology (2019).
Claus Zittel is Professor of German literature at the University of Stuttgart and since 2019 at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He is deputy director of the Stuttgart Research Center for Text Studies and Co-Director of the Ca’ Foscari Bembo-Lab.
