From the creator of A Dress for the Moon comes an extraordinary visual version of how God created the world and the animals and humans in it over the course of seven days.
This narrative of how the world was created was first told in the book of Genesis of the Hebrew Bible. Christians later included the same text in the Christian Old Testament. And later, with some variations, it was included in the Muslim Koran.
The followers of these religions are sometimes called The People of the Book.
Linda Wolfsgruber includes images from what we now know were the early animals and
plants that existed on our planet and which have evolved over time. The text in this book is derived from the Book of Genesis, a new translation of the Hebrew Bible known as the Transparent English Bible by James D. Tabor.
As Rabbi Edward Elkin tells us in his introduction to this book, “This account is one of joy and affirmation of the marvelous world in which we are lucky enough to live today.”
