How does sexual violence persist in higher education, even when universities are officially committed to addressing the issue? Alice Farneti is a gender sociologist who completed her PhD at Universität Bielefeld. During her doctoral studies, she was a member of the research training group »Experiencing Gender: Constitution and Transformation of Being in the World.« Her dissertation focuses on the experience of doing activism against sexual violence in academia, for which she conducted fieldwork in Quebec, Canada. Her main research interests include feminist epistemology, theory of gendered organizations, institutional violence, and ethnographic research methods.
