Siobhán Parkinson has written over thirty books for children and adults. She was Ireland’s first Laureate na nÓg (children’s literature laureate), and founded the independent Irish children's publisher Little Island in 2010. She is also a translator from German and she writes in Irish as well as in English. Her book, Kathleen: The Celtic Knot (2003) sold 17,000 copies in the US. She lives in Dublin with her husband, the wood artist Roger Bennett.
